<출구전략>은 군사전략에서 비롯된 용어로서 작전지역이나 전장에서 인명과 장비의 피해를 최소화하면서 철수하는 전략을 의미한다. 이러한 사전적인 의미에서 출구전략은 위기상황에서 이를 극복하고자 취하였던 이례적 조치들을 부작용이나 후유증을 최소화하면서 정상으로 돌아가고자 하는 의지들을 포괄적으로 드러낸다.

전시 <출구전략> 은 새로운 다른 창작의 공간으로 흩어질 고양레지던시 12기 작가들이 1년 동안 창작의 결과물로 만들어 가던 과정의 산실들을 한자리에 모아 시스템화 되어 있는 미술시장의 흐름 속에 새로운 시도와 시작점을 찾아갈 수 있는 담론의 장이다.

레지던시를 경험하는 많은 작가들은 1년 또는 더 짧은 시간의 주어진 시스템안에서 작고 큰 경험들을 쌓아간다. 그리고 또 다시 다른 창작의 공간들을 찾아간다. 과거의 창작의 공간에서 일어난 많은 경험들은 새로운 공간에서 서서히 망각되어 새로운 시간의 흐름을 받아들이며 또 다른 창작산실로의 여행을 떠난다. 전시장에 놓여진 작품들은 레지던시 기간동안 작가들이 작품에 접근하는 과정 또는 경제성이유로 폐기를 해야 하는 다양한 작품들로 구성되어 관객들을 맞이한다.

I've been working on the installation with an interest in the concept of place and shelter. In particular, with a sense of how to welcome children as refugees in the public, we are working with fellow artists to create an artist cooperative team called Bindoong Play and work on an experimental playground that children can make themselves in a Korean context. I am 2024-26 Resident Artist, Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in the Amsterdam. 1. Purpose I am writing to seek the understanding and support of the Rijksakademie community regarding my upcoming artistic research project. My goal is to present my work transparently and clearly to prevent any discomfort or misunderstanding. I sincerely appreciate your consideration and support in this matter. 2. Project Overview Title: Dancing Flow of Microorganisms This project is an experimental exploration of permaculture and ecological cycles. Specifically, I propose to construct a small treehouse at the southwestern edge of the Rijksakademie garden. This structure will function as a composting toilet, integrating a sustainable waste recycling system. The project aims to collect organic waste—including human waste from the Rijksakademie community, garden byproducts, food scraps, paper waste, and sawdust—and process it into nutrient-rich compost. 샘이 깊은 집 프로젝트 2021-2024 Deep spring house : self construction housing 2021-2024 대부분의 예술가들에게 자신만의 작업 공간을 가지는 것은 꿈입니다. 저 역시 오랫동안 이 꿈을 품어왔고, 작업과 생활의 지속 가능성을 확보하는 것이 가장 중요한 과제 중 하나였습니다. 저는 자유롭게 실험하고 창작할 수 있는 전용 공간을 원했습니다. 또한, 아이들이 자라면서 집에 더 많은 공간이 필요해졌고, 아내는 단기 임대나 에어비앤비 운영을 위한 추가 공간을 원했습니다. 이는 그녀가 오래전부터 하고 싶었던 일이기도 했고, 부족한 수입을 보완하기 위한 방안이기도 했습니다. 그러나 예산 문제는 항상 현실적인 장애물이었습니다. 부족한 재정을 해결하기 위해 저는 어려운 결정을 내려야 했습니다. 예술가가 아닌 전혀 다른 직업을 선택하여 돈을 모으든지, 아니면 직접 몸을 써서 해결하든지 둘 중에 하나였습니다. 어떤 사람이 쇼핑을 이렇게 정의한 적이 있습니다. '스트레스와 노동을 감내한 대가로 돈을 받고, 그 돈으로 필요한 물건을 교환하는 행위.' 그렇다면 인생에서 가장 큰 쇼핑은 바로 '집'이 아닐까요? 많은 사람들이 인생을 담보로 대출을 얻고, 집을 마련하기 위해 끝없이 노동하고 있습니다. 저 또한 이 현실을 되돌아보며 고민했습니다. 그렇다면 조금 더 전향적인 사고방식을 가져보면 어떨까 생각했습니다. 어차피 돈을 벌기 위해 스트레스를 감수하고, 그 돈으로 집을 살 계획이라면, 차라리 그 스트레스와 노동을 직접 집을 짓는 데 투입하면 어떨까 생각했습니다. 일종의 중간 유통마진을 줄이는 것 입니다. 우리의 앞 세대 어른들은 전쟁 이후 폐허 속에서 벽돌과 모래를 나르며 직접 집을 짓고 삶을 재건했던 경험이 있습니다. 하지만 민주화 이후 와 번영의 시기에 자란 저희 세대는 손에 직접 연장을 잡기 보다는 책상 공부를 통한 출세를 권유 받았습니다. 돈을 많이 벌거나 대출 자격을 갖추면 전문 시공사에 맡길수 있...
